Ok so, when I saw the message I got super curious, I searched for an old version everywhere, dug through every single post and message and FINALLY found an old version of the game. And what it unlocked was literally just an "They all died lmao" ending, not really something too interesting and I understand why it was removed.
Originally it was me testing to see how Renpy handled jumping through the script as a preliminary test to how I wanted to handle the vault system. So in part of that I riff'd 999 and as said above, a "lol all ded" ending.

Okay, I've finished Tyson's route and replay it until i have to put a password on day eleventh path A. I'm confused, why didn't I get that part before? I mean, I always remember every password that I had input... u'know, i write it on a note

So the whole true ending thing in the patreon post has me wondering a bit. Namely if it'll be in it's own separate timeline or will every route inevitably lead to it.
I guess I'm just curious if we'll get character endings where Dave gets that happy ending with the route partner now. Or if it will even matter if 5/6 always have the lingering smell of "it doesn't work out" hanging over them.
And I get the game has never been a dating sim with the mystery being the true focus. Just... idk, it'll be sad if the romance parts are meaningless to care about outside one route.
I think the whole timeline thing is literally just referencing save files…because to Dave, not knowing how he remembers passwords but still getting them is just us, the player being Dave in different saves files with knowledge from a different one.
Also we’ll just hafta see, but Dave being in a relationship or not isn’t exactly mandatory when it comes to getting of the mountain in the end…routes in this game (and pretty much everywhere) are kinda there for perspective building, but there’s always an overall story to tell :)
Probably safe to say Roswell and Sal aren't cannon boyfriends judging from what grizz said about the sequel. If they where then dave would probably guaranteed to pop up but with even a dave cameo being a maybe i think probably not.
I'm making an active effort to leave the hyena with his happy end come the end of Password, regardless of who the intended boyfriend is. So if it is Sal or Roswell, know the story I want to tell with the sequel is a lot less focused on romantic relationships and dealing with the fact the police are kinda garbage in-universe currently.
They will not be in the actual VN due to reasons Grizz will explain at a later date. Though i think its to do with releasing on other platforms but i guess i'll wait and see.
Ugh, I've been stuck on Route D and C for Dean and I can't figure out what the password on Day 10 is. I've looked at what Florencia says and noted any significant words but nothing works!
On day 10, pay attention to the conversation with Benson/Roswell towards the end of the day. Like with the other passwords Dave will notice when a word stands out.
The clue is thinking what the worst thing that could happen is, and if you've been down C/D you already know what exactly happens that night.
There's a fair bit in that lead up conversation you can ask about to start like his background, life, or interests. Just make sure you phrase stuff in the form of a question. "Do you know about x", "what do you think about x", "can you tell me about x", etc. There's nothing you need to ask about to proceed or anything that changes the story drastically. It's all background lore or easter egg stuff.
For spoilers sake if you wanted to find them yourself stop here. But if you wanted more direct things to ask...
So far I've found around 50 questions he'll respond to and apparently there's more than that.
Some good questions that I always like to ask if I'm doing a playthrough: "who is marked for death" is a good one, asking about the forest or what's in it have some unfortunate hints about future events, you can ask about his family, asking "What do you think of x" the only character he'll have a unique response to is Roswell. You can ask about the medals to find out just how many there are to find.
Finally, the only ones I've found that changes dialogue or effects the story so far.
"Do you like rabbits?"
"Can you tell me a story?"
It adds a small bit of dialogue to Tysons day 10 and for every route adds something extra to day 13.
And I always finish the interview off with "Can I thank you?"
The password is given to you during his bad ending. If I remember right, the word gets repeated at least a couple of times towards the end.
So just look for a word that sticks out, or pay attention to Dave since he'll point them out in some way. And a good rule to follow is don't look too hard, most of them are just hidden in plain sight if you're not skipping dialogue.
20th grizz mentioned on patreon his IRL stuff is in the middle of settling and there'll be a ''password in 2022'' plan outline later on so probably with the february patreon update.
To my knowledge no, and if Grizz is going to do official guides they would probably come afterwards like inbetween password and its sequal. That would give him some free time to do guides and any extra polish that he wanted to do. But that would be up to Grizz.
Not really. But if you search around reddit and other sites you should find most of your answers. Also, if you want to know what each choice does to the future dialogue you can go into settings and make sure you do not skip unseen text (it should be this way by default). Then you just go back to the last dialogue and skip what you can and read the rest. That's what I did but I had to wipe all the saves from %appdata% so its fresh and the game doesnt know what text you read. Just keep in mind that doing that is like a reformatting. Youll have to re read everything all over again unless you remembered your chocies and enabled skip unseen text.
As for the talk with Hamond where you can ask him any question, whatever you ask him wont have an impact on the game, and I do believe Grizz has not programmed in any text that will give us clues or confirm our own suspicions of what is going on. So over all, youre not missing much.

You need to find passwords in the text and use them at the vault before the bad event happens. The one your after is in the bad ending and is related to the bad ending.

Benson needs multiple passwords. Each are found in the bad endings. Using one will lead to a new chain of events on day 8 and the next password will be in the new chain of events.
There is something on Hoss's route on day 7 that helps with day 8 and allows to avoid one of the passwords. Think it happens on Orlando's route too but once you know the right password it will work on every route, day 8 is a universal one.
There are toooo many good things to say about this VN, and not enough space to do it UwU but I'd really like to say how well Tyson is written :3 I had a friend EXACTLY like him :| like, they're scarily similar! xD the character is really well nailed~

So I just thought of something; there's someone behind the events of this vacation, but almost everyone dies at some point in the game. The only thing to survive period is Thanatos, this leads me to believe that someone fakes their own death or not in the mansion to begin with. Whatever the case is, something doesn't seem right with Benson's death. It seems too staged to me even some of the characters say so. Still the narrative and mysterious plot are addictive to me!! 😃😃😃😃😃

So far I think I've managed to squeeze 12 answers out of him, but I honestly don't know what specific keywords I can use

The talk with Oz is just for aditional info, you won't get a bad end just for not asking things. Though some things can give aditional dialoge like asking him if he 'likes hansel and gretel'.
As for the orlando question i think if you ask him about 'recorded surveillance' might help.
As a completionist, I'm gonna aim for every end (even the bad ones) but I would like to avoid being stuck somewhere in the story because I missed something

I was wondering if there's anything I need to know beforehand, or any tips
(I'm already aware of the password system and how to get them but that's it. I already plan to do all the routes (currently have 6 different save slots, one for each character) and I learned somewhere the little "Dave" tip at the very beginning of the story)
I already love Dean (you know, bears) but I also know thanks to Echo that "antagonistic" characters like Tyson are usually the best boys, can't wait to do his route !
I've just finished the first day 6 (Sal's), it was interesting
(didn't really know the password would be THAT obvious so I kept trying different words I saw in the dialogues, it was fun trying to find the right one before I got the answer tho)
Oh so that's what the different paths meant in the save slots, I thought it was the different routes (in addition to the save files colours)

No problem. It does catch people out, paths are the story and routes are the flavour that goes along with it.
For example if Dave is meant to react to somthing in the story that will happen no matter who's route you are on. The routes are flavour, who will be at daves side when he reacts.
Thats very vague. So you can get to day 19 but get a bad end everytime? The actual day is important because as in the title the VN needs you to find passwords in the text to avoid bad ends, and there's alot of passwords. So simply saying 'the whole route' is not easy for anyone to help you.
If you do literally mean 'i want everything spoon fed to me with every password', you aren't going to get an answer because that would spoil it for anyone else trying to do it themselfs and only wanting hints from the comments.
Playing through Sal's route on path A. It seems like there are parts that don't register and repeat at a later date.

So Sal and Dave already confessed to each other in a way at an earlier day, not sure which one. Now on day 18 Sal is confessing again and Dave is surprised about it, sort of as if the previous day's confessions never happened in this route.
Guessing it will be remedied at some point but wanted to point it out just in case no one else has.

There is no other language supported except English. A Spanish translation has been requested and is being considered for full release.

It means the dating sim part is effectively done with Dave having a boyfriend (or not) going into the next part of the game.
Now seems like it's time for the mystery and horror to take more of a center stage while we get to try and keep everyone alive.

As a completionist, I'm gonna aim for every end (even the bad ones) but I would like to avoid being stuck somewhere in the story because I missed something

I already asked him about the cameras but he didn't mention Orlando though, I guess it's going to be an unanswered question
(I've managed to squeeze 21 different answers out of him, I guess that's enough to quench my curiosity (I still don't really assume the daddy and bacon ones)
I only knew of four different questions to ask. Apparently there's a lot more variety to some of them. 😅😅 But what do I ask? I only thought of the forest and mushrooms.

I just got to the point with the different paths (A, B, C, D)
I managed to find the password so I unlocked paths A and C
However as I loaded the save where I revealed Oz during day 8, I keep ending up on paths A or C, can't get the B and D
Did I miss something ?
No thats just the first step you need the decision on day 10 then you can get to b and d
By decision, do you mean entering the password or not ?
Because I've reached day 11 for paths A and C (so supporting Benson on Day 8 and choosing or not to use the password)
But on the other save, where I revealed Oz on day 8 (and where Benson left), when I arrive on day 11 I'm either on paths A or C
Is there another choice to make on day 10 that could lead me to these paths ? Or maybe it'll switch to paths B and D later, like on day 11 or 12 ?
Revealing Oz and not using the password on day 10 goes to path D, the save data will only change the display to path D after you find Oz.

Hey, I just started playing this game and I'm already on day 3
I was wondering if there's anything I need to know beforehand, or any tips
(I'm already aware of the password system and how to get them but that's it. I already plan to do all the routes (currently have 6 different save slots, one for each character) and I learned somewhere the little "Dave" tip at the very beginning of the story)
I already love Dean (you know, bears) but I also know thanks to Echo that "antagonistic" characters like Tyson are usually the best boys, can't wait to do his route !

I've just finished the first day 6 (Sal's), it was interesting
(didn't really know the password would be THAT obvious so I kept trying different words I saw in the dialogues, it was fun trying to find the right one before I got the answer tho)

Oh god my saveslots are starting to get messy now
I've reached day 7 for Orlando and I got quite a few passwords from other routes, so each time I'm at the vault I'm trying them all
Turns out 3 of them work in every route at day 7, gonna try to keep things clear I guess

Oh so that's what the different paths meant in the save slots, I thought it was the different routes (in addition to the save files colours)

No problem. It does catch people out, paths are the story and routes are the flavour that goes along with it.
For example if Dave is meant to react to somthing in the story that will happen no matter who's route you are on. The routes are flavour, who will be at daves side when he reacts.

Thats very vague. So you can get to day 19 but get a bad end everytime? The actual day is important because as in the title the VN needs you to find passwords in the text to avoid bad ends, and there's alot of passwords. So simply saying 'the whole route' is not easy for anyone to help you.
If you do literally mean 'i want everything spoon fed to me with every password', you aren't going to get an answer because that would spoil it for anyone else trying to do it themselfs and only wanting hints from the comments.

Playing through Sal's route on path A. It seems like there are parts that don't register and repeat at a later date.

So Sal and Dave already confessed to each other in a way at an earlier day, not sure which one. Now on day 18 Sal is confessing again and Dave is surprised about it, sort of as if the previous day's confessions never happened in this route.
Guessing it will be remedied at some point but wanted to point it out just in case no one else has.
